Seneca Foods to Expand Frozen Vegetable Business by Acquiring Green Giant

Seneca Foods Corp. has acquired the U.S. frozen business of B&G Foods, expanding the Fairport-based company’s footprint in the growing frozen vegetable category. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

As part of the transaction, Seneca Foods acquired the Green Giant brand and associated intellectual property tied to the U.S. frozen segment, along with frozen inventory and a manufacturing facility in Yuma, Arizona. 

The deal also includes a supply agreement for certain Green Giant frozen products produced in Irapuato, Mexico, by B&G Foods.
