Some Students Criticize NCAA’s $2.7 Billion Settlement

Three groups representing current and former U.S. college athletes have raised objections to a landmark $2.7 billion settlement with the National Collegiate Athletic Association that would allow schools for the first time to directly pay student athletes.

The groups lodged their challenges in federal court in California last week, urging U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken in Oakland to deny preliminarily approving the accord.
