Tennessee Juvenile Center Employees Sue Over Safety Concerns

Current and former employees at Knox County’s juvenile detention center are suing over claims of inadequate training, lack of safety equipment, and unfair treatment by the facility’s current leader.

Eleven current and former workers are suing the county and juvenile center chief Cory Dauer.

The federal lawsuit filed Thursday claims that the work environment is unsafe because corrections staff have not been adequately trained since the departure of longtime detention center superintendent Richard L. Bean last year.
