Texas AG Sues Biden Administration to Stop Pharmacies from Providing Abortion Pills

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against the Biden Administration Tuesday seeking to halt pharmacies from providing prescription or over-the-counter drugs that induce abortions.

Last year, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued guidance to the nation’s retail pharmacies clarifying their obligations to ensure access to comprehensive reproductive health care services. It informed roughly 60,000 U.S. retail pharmacies that under federal civil rights laws, pharmacies are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, age and disability in their programs and activities.

HHS said the issuing of the guidance was its latest step in the agency’s response to protect reproductive health care.
