Texas Correctional Officer Charged with Bringing Chicken Wing Contraband into Correctional Facility

A correctional officer with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) has been charged with allegedly bringing contraband into the county’s correctional facility. The alleged contraband: chicken wings.

On Aug. 21, a corrections officer with TCSO’s Security Threat Intelligence Unit “became aware” that Corrections Officer Amos Nyanway allegedly “provided chicken wings to an inmate” in exchange for money, according to a TCSO press release issued Tuesday afternoon.
