The Governor of Texas Will Spend $250 Million on Building a Border Wall

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Wednesday said the state will spend $250 million as a “down payment” for a project aimed at building hundreds of miles of wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
During a news conference in Austin to provide more details on the state-led project, Abbott said the wall was necessary because of the Biden administration’s inaction at the border.
“The Biden administration has abandoned its responsibility to apply federal law to secure the border and enforce the immigration laws, and Texans are suffering as a consequence of that neglect by the Biden administration,” Abbott said.
