The NFL Looks to Partner With a Hollywood Studio

The NFL is already kicking around the idea of entering the streaming content fight. Are prestige sports documentaries next? According to Sports Business Journal, a top league executive says the league has been speaking with film studios about expanding the reach of NFL Films.

Since The Last Dance aired on ESPN in 2020, streamers, networks and studios have all been trying to stake their own claim in the long-form documentary space. ESPN has partnered with Tom Brady on Man in the Arena. Apple TV+ has They Call Me Magic coming next month. The NFL doesn’t want to get left behind.
