Trucking Company Yellow Corp. Files for Bankruptcy Amid Employee Lawsuit

Yellow Corp., one of the largest trucking companies in the country, has filed for bankruptcy after it shut down operations last week.

The less-than-truckload giant, which operated for 99 years, announced Sunday that it filed for Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. It’s the largest filing from a trucking company in U.S. history, with Yellow employing more than 30,000 people.

“It is with profound disappointment that Yellow announces that it is closing after nearly 100 years in business,” said Yellow CEO Darren Hawkins. “Today, it is not common for someone to work at one company for 20, 30, or even 40 years, yet many at Yellow did. For generations, Yellow provided hundreds of thousands of Americans with solid, good-paying jobs and fulfilling careers.”
