Trump Admin Lawsuit Challenging Rochester, New York Sanctuary City Policies Dismissed

A federal judge has sided with the City of Rochester in a Trump administration lawsuit challenging its sanctuary city policies.

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York granted the city’s motion to dismiss Tuesday, throwing out the case with prejudice and preventing the federal government from amending or refiling its claims.

The lawsuit challenged Rochester’s policies limiting the city’s involvement in federal immigration enforcement.
