TikTok and ByteDance Are Facing a New Lawsuit Over Software Copyright Infringement

The Beijing Meishe Network Technology Company, “a smart video and audio total solution service provider,” has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against ByteDance as well as the nine-year-old entity’s TikTok app.

Meishe just recently submitted the firmly worded complaint to a Texas federal court, and Digital Music News obtained an exclusive copy of the corresponding filing. The company states in the suit that it’s focused “on the development of the video and audio field for 20 years” – though it officially formed in 2014, according to its LinkedIn profile.

Furthermore, Meishe specializes in intelligent processing, deep learning, and “covering customers in various industries such as mobile APP, smart phones, smart hardware,” and television.
