Uber Settles for $290M Over New York Driver Fee Deductions

Uber agreed to a $290 million settlement to resolve a New York investigation into claims it unlawfully deducted sales tax and Black Car Fund fees from driver earnings.

The Uber driver settlement benefits individuals who used the Uber driver app to provide rides in New York between Nov. 10, 2014, and May 22, 2017, and had deductions for New York sales tax and Black Car Fund fees taken from their earnings.
