UC Berkeley to Pay $1M to Settle Antisemitism Lawsuit Alleging it Failed to Protect Jewish Students

UC Berkeley is facing backlash over its plans to pay $1 million to settle a lawsuit alleging it failed to protect Jewish students from antisemitism.

Two Jewish groups filed the lawsuit following protests in response to the Israel-Hamas war in 2023.

Attorneys representing those groups are asking a judge to reject the settlement and allow the case to go to trial.
