Upscale Italian Restaurant Chain, Il Fornaio, Settles Sexual Harassment Lawsuit for $3M Dollars

Il Fornaio, an upscale Italian restaurant chain, will pay $3 million to settle a lawsuit alleging it created a sexually hostile work environment and retaliated against female employees, many of whom were teenagers. 

The federal lawsuit, brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) on behalf of at least 100 women, was settled on Oct. 13. 

According to the suit, supervisors and employees across Il Fornaio’s restaurants repeatedly subjected female employees to sexual harassment.
