US Secures the Release of a Former Marine From a Russian Prison
The Biden administration on Wednesday announced it had secured the release of Trevor Reed, a former U.S. Marine who has been held prisoner in Russia since 2019.
The Russian foreign ministry said that Reed was freed as part of a prisoner exchange for a Russian citizen, Konstantin Yaroshenko, who had been serving out a 20-year sentence on drug charges.
President Biden and Trevor Reed’s parents confirmed that he had been released in separate statements.
