Vornado Air Will Pay a $7.5 Million Settlement Over Deadly Space Heater Fires
A fan manufacturer is set to pay a $7.5 million settlement after it failed to report a potentially deadly hazard in one of its products.
Vornado Air failed to immediately report risks associated with a twice-recalled electric space heater to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the CPSC says.
The VH101 Personal Vortex Heater posed a potential fire risk after reports came in that they could overheat and catch fire. One report shows that a man was killed when one of the heaters caught fire.
