Watertown New York School District Agrees to $3M Settlement Over Teacher Sexual Assaults in the 60s

The Watertown City School District will pay $3 million to settle the lawsuits of two women who claim a teacher sexually assaulted them in the 1960s.
The district has agreed to pay $2.5 million to one of the women and $500,000 to the other. That’s according to documents filed this month in state Supreme Court.
In her lawsuit, the first woman claimed that a Case Junior High School teacher began molesting her in 1966 when she was approximately 15 years old. The suit claims the assaults continued for approximately 3 years and took place at the school and other locations.
