Westlake Corporation to Pay $67M in PVC Pipe Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

Westlake (WLK) said Tuesday it agreed to pay $67M to settle a class action lawsuit by builders and other direct purchasers alleging price-fixing of PVC pipe and fittings in the U.S. beginning in 2020, in the largest settlement so far in nationwide U.S. antitrust litigation over the PVC pipe market.
In addition to the cash payment, Westlake (WLK) said it will produce documents previously provided to the U.S. Department of Justice as part of a separate federal antitrust investigation into the PVC pipe and fittings market.
