$4.87M Settlement Reached Between GS Labs and 18 States Over Allegations of Overpriced and Delayed COVID-19 Tests

Nebraska and Iowa are among 18 states that will get a share of nearly $5 million in a settlement with GS Labs over allegations of overpriced and delayed COVID-19 tests at the height of the pandemic.
The lawsuit filed by 18 states said GS Labs overcharged patients whose tests were covered by health insurance. Claims filed against the testing company alleged they had charged patients as much as $380 per test to nearly $1,000 for “multi-panel” tests despite advertising no out-of-pocket costs.
