A Deaf Woman Is Suing Taco Bell For Discrimination
It may or may not come as a surprise to find out Rochester has one of the highest per capita deaf populations in the country.
Still, some members of the deaf and hard-of-hearing community feel they’re being left out.
That’s how Karen Putz felt just last week.
According to Putz, on Friday, she and a friend stopped at a Taco Bell for lunch while running some errands.
As she normally does, she skipped the intercom and drove right to the window. “And when the window opened I said, ‘I didn’t order back there because I’m deaf.'”
