Walmart Will Acquire the Israeli Start-Up Zeekit to Allow Customers to Virtually Try on Clothes
Walmart Inc. of Bentonville will acquire the virtual fitting company Zeekit, an Israeli startup.
Terms were not announced or when Zeekit will be available on Walmart.com. To use Zeekit, customers upload a picture of themselves or use a representative model to virtually try on clothes.
“Virtual try-on is a game-changer and solves what has historically been one of the most difficult things to replicate online: understanding fit and how an item will actually look on you,” said Denise Incandela, Walmart’s executive vice president of apparel and private brands, in a blog post. “Zeekit will help us deliver an inclusive, immersive and personalized experience for our diverse customer base.”
