LA County Settles With the Family of a Man Who Died After a Police Struggle For $3.8 Million

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors agreed Tuesday, March 15, to pay $3.84 million to settle a federal lawsuit filed by relatives of a man who went into cardiac arrest and died following a struggle with sheriff’s deputies who responded to a call that the man had threatened to kill his mother and sister.
The board voted unanimously and without discussion to approve the settlement.
