Ugg Footwear Designer Files Lawsuit Claiming Tommy Hilfiger Footwear Infringes on Ugg Patent

Ugg footwear designer Deckers Outdoor Corporation has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against MBF Holdings LLC for allegedly selling Tommy Hilfiger footwear that infringes on certain patented Ugg designs.
In the Ugg lawsuit, Deckers argues that MBF has sought to capitalize on the popular Ugg “Fluff Yeah” fluffy slides by selling similar Tommy Hilfiger brand “Laydown” fluffy slides.
The Fluff Yeah Slide, a “unique and inherently distinctive” combination of slipper and sandal, was introduced in 2018, the Tommy Hilfiger lawsuit explains. This shoe features an open toe, furry footbed and sides, and an elastic heel strap.
