Lawsuit Claims Former Disney Analyst Was Fired After Pointing Out Bad Accounting Practices

A former Walt Disney Co. accountant is suing the company, accusing Disney of firing her after she tried to raise red flags about shoddy accounting practices, she said in a new federal lawsuit.

Ex-senior financial analyst Sandra Kuba filed her lawsuit Tuesday against Burbank, Calif.-based Disney Financial Services that seeks unspecified damages, including back pay and attorney’s fees.

An Orange County resident, she had worked for Disney since 1999 in Florida and rose in the ranks with a promotion to senior financial analyst in 2013.

“On a number of occasions throughout her career, (Kuba) reported her concerns about Disney’s policies, practices, and procedures that she genuinely and reasonably believed were unethical, improper, or illegal to Disney’s management,” she said in her lawsuit. “Each time, (Kuba) suffered from harassment, hostility, and retaliation as a result.”
