Trademark Lawsuit Filed Against Dick’s Sporting Goods Over Its Infinity-Symbol Logo

Sportswear maker Wooter on Tuesday sued Dick’s Sporting Goods over similarities between its logo and that of Dick’s women’s clothing brand Calia, according to Reuters.

Wooter said in its trademark lawsuit filed Tuesday in federal court in New York that the Calia logo is virtually identical to its infinity symbol branding and likely to cause customer confusion.

According to the complaint, Dick’s considers Calia to be one of its “powerhouse vertical brands” as stated in an Investor presentation in August. The sporting goods chain also claimed that Calia is now the second largest women’s apparel brand, behind Nike.
