Parent Company of Stop and Shop, Ahold Delhaize, to Pay $40M Settlement Over Alleged Inflated Prescription Drug Prices

The parent company of Stop & Shop has agreed to pay $40 million to resolve allegations it overcharged government health programs by inflating reported prescription drug prices, the U.S. Dept. of Justice said.
Ahold Delhaize USA Inc., based in Quincy, Mass., operates dozens of Stop & Shop and Hannaford supermarkets across New England, many of which have in-store pharmacies.
