Parent Files Discrimination Lawsuit Against NC School Alleging Failure to Accommodate Students Disability, Bullying, and Retaliation

A parent of a disabled child filed a federal lawsuit claiming Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools failed to properly accommodate the student’s disability, failed to protect the student from bullying and retaliated when the parent complained about the negligence. 

According to the lawsuit, the student, known as A.P., was determined eligible for Section 504 services, meaning the school is required to provide disability accommodations to give the student a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).
