Parking Vendor UPP Global to Pay $1.35M Settlement Over Alleged Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha announced a $1.35 million settlement with a parking management company over consumer protection claims.
According to officials, the settlement resolves claims that UPP Global used unfair and deceptive trade practices. In 2024, the attorney general’s office accused the company of knowingly hiding the real price of parking, charging hidden fees, and falsely threatening consumers’ licenses or credit by issuing parking tickets resembling government documents.
