The Trelawny Tenants Union secured the historic payout after a grueling multi-year fight over illegal rent control hikes.

Landlord Geoffrey Rice owns roughly 19 residential properties and 300 units across Portland. The union proved Rice has been systemically violating the city’s rent control ordinance for years.
