Victim of Medical Malpractice is Awarded $1,000,000 By Jury
Attorney Lindsay Ann Lawrence, of Rittgers Rittgers & Nakajima, represented a victim of medical malpractice that was left permanently injured. An IV infiltration and extravasation following a routine colonoscopy after the administration of D50 a medication was given to her client who is a type 2 diabetic and was hypoglycemic before her colonoscopy. The D50 leaked out of the vein and caused permanent injury to the victim.
This was a zero-offer case and the jury awarded $1,000,000 for past and future pain and suffering. The defense agreed to a high low of $250,000 to $1,000,000 prior to the jury coming back and waived their right to appeal on the record.
