City of Seattle Settles with 30-Year Veteran of the Seattle Police Department

The city of Seattle has agreed to pay nearly $1 million to settle a lawsuit brought by a high-ranking, 30-year veteran of the Seattle Police Department.

Seattle police Capt. Eric Greening sued former Chief Adrian Diaz last year alleging that Diaz retaliated when Greening brought up concerns about racial and gender discrimination. Greening, who is Black, claimed Diaz rejected his reapplication to be an assistant chief and demoted him.
