Couple in Connecticut Wins a $9 Million Verdict After an Imaging Table Collapses, Causing Injuries

A jury has awarded a Plymouth couple $9 million in a medical malpractice lawsuit brought against a Bridgeport medical practice as a result of an imaging table collapsing under the husband in 2014, which the couple argued was the cause of numerous medical problems he subsequently suffered.

The couple, James and Diana Griswold, also will be entitled to interest that will bring the total amount they are owed to $14.4 million, according to the law firm representing them, Silver Golub and Teitell of Stamford.

The defendants in the lawsuit, in state Superior Court in Waterbury, were Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists P.C. of Bridgeport, Dr. Michael Logue and Joyce Giannelli, a radiologic technologist at the practice.
