Jury Awards $1.9 Million Verdict Against Dollar General Subsidiary

A Mobile County jury Wednesday awarded a $1.9 million verdict against Dollar General subsidiary Dolgencorp after determining the retailer did not properly maintain a backdoor delivery ramp.

The case, filed in 2020, stems from an April 20, 2019 incident at a Dollar General store on University Avenue in Mobile.

According to the suit, delivery driver Jason Agee was operating a half-ton rolling cart containing cases of bottled water on a delivery ramp.
