Justice Department Moves to Erase Seditious Conspiracy Convictions of Proud Boys, Oath Keepers Leaders Who Led Jan. 6th Attack

The Justice Department moved Tuesday to wipe out the seditious conspiracy convictions of the leaders of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers who were found guilty of organizing key aspects of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Though President Donald Trump pardoned the majority of people who joined the mob at the Capitol that day, he opted only to commute the sentences — some of the lengthiest handed down by judges in Washington — of about a dozen ringleaders who prosecutors said were uniquely responsible for the chaos.
