Former Students Settle Lawsuits for $6 Million After Accusing a New Jersey Teacher of Sexual Assault

A Camden County school district recently settled a pair of lawsuits for $6 million after two former students alleged they were sexually assaulted by a former teacher.

The lawsuits were among those filed after a change in state law allowed alleged child sexual abuse victims to sue institutions for decades-old incidents.

The former students filed separate civil lawsuits weeks apart in 2021 alleging they were sexually assaulted by Nicholas Zaccaria, a social studies and history teacher at Edgewood High School, which is now Winslow Township High School, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, which first reported the news.
