Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Hate Crimes in Attacks on Orthodox Jews in New Jersey

An Ocean County man on Thursday pleaded guilty to federal hate crimes levied against him for an antisemitic rampage in 2022, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Dion Marsh, 29, of Manchester, faces a possible life sentence, federal prosecutors said. Last week, he also pleaded guilty to state terrorism charges and faces 30 years in state prison in that case.

Marsh was charged after committing a set of violent acts against Orthodox Jewish people in Lakewood. The town is home to one of the world’s largest yeshivas and a large population of Orthodox Jews.
