Consumer Files Lawsuit Alleging Arm & Hammer ‘Greenwashes’ Laundry Detergent

Church & Dwight Co. “greenwashes” its Arm & Hammer brand Clean Burst laundry detergent to try and make the product appear more environmentally friendly than it actually is, a new class action lawsuit alleges.

Plaintiff Akili Charles claims Arm & Hammer Clean Burst laundry detergent contains 4.28 parts per million of the probable human carcinogen 1,4-Dioxane, despite it allegedly being marketed as environmentally friendly.

Charles argues Arm & Hammer designs the container for the Clean Burst laundry detergent with a blue wave and labels it “The Standard of Purity” while allegedly simultaneously failing to disclose the product contains dioxane.
