Nintendo Has Filed 1,300 Copyright Claims Against a YouTube Music Channel

Nintendo has set its sights on GilvaSunner, a YouTube video game music channel (again). Following up on prior copyright claims dating back to 2020, the channel has now been targeted with over 1,300 takedowns. The channel has been stripped of all high-quality Nintendo music, including Super Mario and Legend of Zelda soundtracks. It’s important to note that GilvaSunner does not profit from these soundtracks. Nintendo has every right to safeguard its music, as we’ve already stated.

“I’m also not angry or surprised that Nintendo is doing this, but I do think it’s a bit disappointing there is hardly an alternative. If Nintendo thinks this is what needs to be done (to set an example), I will let them take down the channel. It is their content after all.”
