Employee Sues Texas Medical Center for Alleged Security Shortfalls After Stabbing in Parking Garage

A Houston Methodist hospital employee who was stabbed inside a Texas Medical Center parking garage earlier this year has filed a lawsuit against the operators of the complex, claiming they failed to provide proper security.
The lawsuit was filed Wednesday by Baleigh Burmaster, the stabbing victim. She claims the Texas Medical Center failed to provide adequate security despite knowing or having had reason to “know of the high rate of occurrence of past violent criminal events,” the lawsuit states.
